Entre Computer Services has an immediate need for an experienced Systems Administrator-WINTEL environment to join our team.
Job responsibilities:
- Performs planning, engineering, installation, configuration, administration, maintenance , operation and support of server infrastructure including security and monitoring of Wintel hardware, software, and services, plus some middleware and Web infrastructure.
- Provides support for applications, messaging and collaboration tools, and remote Management.
- Support other IT Functions which may include ticket resolution, troubleshooting, on-call support, project technical lead, and technology planning.
- Ensures IT procedures and policies are followed to meet service level agreements with our internal customers.
- Maintains up-to-date documentation and procedures that define the operability of the infrastructure.
- Monitors servers for performance and availability. Makes recommendations when necessary to meet the expected demands.
- Maintains current system tables such as user accounts, host definitions, software inventories and DNS configurations.
- Installs/maintains third party software packages as required (e.g. Exchange, Citrix, Symantec, VMWare).
Job Requirements:
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to carry a pager and respond to 24/7 support
- 2 to 4 years of related experience
- Knowledge of Wintel server commands and utilities (i.e. scheduling, backups, system stats)
- Knowledge of all aspects of system administration (i.e. installation, configuration, use management, 3rd party software license management, etc.)
Required Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field. Equivalent work experience will be considered.
