Entre Computer Services has an immediate need for an experienced Systems Administrator-UNIX environment to join our team.
Job Description:
- Provides technical support for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of platforms for daily production requirements and project development, in a UNIX (primarily Aix) environment.
- Maintains up-to-date documentation and procedures that define the operability of the infrastructure.
- Monitors servers for performance and availability. Makes recommendations when necessary to meet the expected demands.
- Maintains current system tables such as user accounts, host definitions, software inventories and DNS configurations.
- Installs/maintains third party software packages as required and patch levels on all servers and clients.
Job Requirements:
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skill
- Ability to carry a pager and respond to 24/7 support
- 2 to 4 years of related experience
- Knowledge of Unix server commands and utilities (i.e. scheduling, backups, system stats)
- Knowledge of all aspects of system administration (i.e. installation, configuration, use management, 3rd party software license management, etc.)
- Familiarity with HA (high availability) architectures/environments a plus.
Required Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field. Equivalent work experience will be considered.
