Data Storage Management Specialist

Entre Computer Services has an immediate need for an experienced Data Storage Management Specialist environment to join our team. 

Job Description:

• Performs planning, engineering, installation, configuration, administration, maintenance, operation and support of storage infrastructure, including security and monitoring (hardware, software, and services).

• Provides support for disk and removable storage media including monitoring storage utilization.  Analyzes storage availability and capacity by using the automated management of physical and logical storage availability, capacity, configuration and performance.

• Supports Storage Area Network (SAN) deployment, storage resource management (SRM), and the storage backup and recovery.

• Maintains a storage environment that supports mainframe and distributed systems that run a variety of operating systems (Windows, Unix, other).

• Uses a variety of tools to support storage requirements on all platforms

• Maintains availability and integrity of catalog and directory structures and physical media including all platforms. Maintains parameters associated with systems that affect data backup, archive, and recovery.

• Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to carry a pager and respond to 24/7 support

• 5 to 7 years of related experience

• Knowledge of all aspects of system administration (i.e. installation, configuration, use management, 3rd party software license management etc.)

• Familiarity with major components/technologies of current storage environment, including multi-location architectures using various EMC and IBM/NetApp

• Familiarity with backup/recovery systems, including EMC, TSM, and IBM tape libraries

Required Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field. Equivalent work experience will be considered.
